What pushes the price up
- After-hours or emergency response. Expect a premium for nights and weekends.
- Door size and weight. Larger doors need heavier springs and sometimes a lift and a second technician.
- Parts availability. Older or unusual doors may need parts ordered or fabricated.
- Impact damage. Track, sections and operator are often damaged together.
- Special doors. Fire-rated, high-speed and insulated cold-storage doors cost more to repair.
How to keep costs down
Fix small problems early, put doors and levelers on a planned maintenance schedule, and protect tracks with bollards or guards where forklifts pass.
